St Nicholas Church, Saltdean has a strong link with Sussex Army Cadets, it is the Battalion Church for the County.

This link was forged when the present Parish Priest came to the parish in 2002.

The Army Cadet Force is a nationwide youth organisation sponsored by the British Army, and funded by The Ministry of Defence. Father George is senior chaplain and remains available as pastor to all in the Army Cadet Force.

Father George is also chaplain to 266 Squadron of the Air Training Corps, the Royal Air Force equivalent of the Army Cadet Force.
